Hive inspection at the Eden apiary

From Spring to Autumn regular inspections of the Eden Apiary are held about every 6 weeks from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm - @ Mirare Point Eden.

Eden is home to 2 sentinel hives which are monitored for biosecurity purposes by the club on behalf of the Department of Primary Industries. Regular inspections are undertaken to check for disease and general health of hives, and all members are invited to come and watch, or join in to gain more valuable hands on experience. As inspections were carried out just recently there will be no club members' inspection in October.

Please register your interest in attending future inspections with the club's Biosecurity Officer Alex Aitkenhead on begavalley.biosecurity@beekeepers.asn.au
